Learn the role of civil society in promoting human rights and how civil society, through NGOs work to address human rights issues.

Lesson Two:
Human Development on the Arabian Peninsula

Purpose: The focus of this workshop is the underdevelopment of human resources, particularly women, and the impact this has had on the Arab world. U.S. relations and interests in Saudia Arabia will be explored in the context of this issue.

Lesson Three:
Challenges in the Developing World and the Role the U.S. Should Play

Purpose: This workshop explores challenges common to developing countries and issues surrounding foreign aid by studying the West African nation of Niger. Specific attention will be paid to the lack of educational opportunities, particularly for females and the impact of this on society.
